Lindsay Lohan was released from jail after serving 13 days, Now in Rehab

Actress Lindsay Lohan was released from jail early Monday after serving 13 days of a 90-day sentence for violating her probation on a 2007 drunk-driving charge, media reported.

Lohan, 24, was booked into an all-female jail in south Los Angeles on July 20 and placed in solitary confinement — a blow to newspaper headline writers who had excitedly predicted she would be victimized by lesbian gangs.

Her sentence was reduced for good behavior and under early-release programs to combat overcrowding in Los Angeles’ budget-strapped jail system.

Entertainment website E! Online reported that Lohan was released at 1.35 a.m. Monday but somehow managed to avoid the dozens of camera crews waiting outside the jail for her.

Her freedom is expected to be short-lived though as her sentence also mandates she begin an immediate 90-day stint in rehab. According to celebrity website TMZ.com, Lohan will be treated for bipolar disorder and an addiction to amphetamines.

Both TMZ and rival outlet Radaronline.com said Lohan would head to a facility operated by the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Hospital System in West Los Angeles.
