American Idol Episode Recap: San Francisco

And so, American Idol's cross-country search for the next superstar comes to a close in San Francisco. The San Francisco auditions certainly brought a level of talent that was sorely missing in last week's stinky Los Angeles tryouts. (Though, the episode did start with a crying reject who lamented the fact that the judges kicked her out of the audition room because she farted while singing. Didn't she know there is a rule against that in the Idol bylaws?)

Wednesday's episode also saw the return of some major sob stories. One heartstring-tugger, in particular, instantly made me think of Adam Lambert, who, as Ryan Seacrest conveniently pointed out in tonight's opening, also was discovered in the Bay City. And just like Adam, the show is already putting this guy on people's radar in a big way. But was he the one that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler said could be this season's winner? Let's take a look at the night's best and worst...

Abrams, Nolan pilot gets greenlit at CBS

Abrams has another project in works for fall: CBS just greenlit his pilot Person of Interest, an hour-long drama being developed by Abrams and Dark Knight co-writer Jonah Nolan (as in, brother of Christopher).
