That artists rendition posted on the front page is pointless. It's not as though that is the actual design. It looks too Nano-ish, and even the Nano look has changed.
Anyway, I'm not excited about an iPhone. It would need to give me at least one neat feature for this to be worth drooling over.

Hmm mixed feelings about this.
I want them to be successful, but I also want:
- DVD extras
- HD resolution
- burnable to disc
- rental system
I hope success won't lull them into thinking the current restrictions are ok. :(

You want HD quality downloads but you can "stick" with DVD's? Do you understand how much information there is for a HD movie? Try one of the new disc formats, but you want to be able to download it? Crazy!
I agree on the rental system however, I wouldn't mind renting but it would have to be cheaper of course.

Another spin on all of this is the fact they just get 100 million from apple and now they decided to spend mega bucks on it over here in the uk up untill reacently we hardly sore a advert for ipods or apple computers saw a lot of adds for creative zen but bugger all for ipods which is better i wonder ie market leader who dosnt push the advertising or the people who advertise a lot and still dont have a large market share ....

i thought this from my first post, but his join date is 08, and he's a regular. that is what has me thinking that what he is saying is really how he thinks/acts.
I don't doubt that he goes around cutting people off at dangerous speeds. That screams of trying to make himself feel like less of a loser.
It's all the other crap that I think is BS...the money, connected family members, SAT score, all of the volunteering, Harvard. Complete lies. The kid is sitting in his basement listening to death metal (no offense to those who like that kind of music) as we speak and cursing all of the girls in his class because nobody would be caught dead at Prom with him.

Get a clue. No one wants drunk drivers but these checkpoints have VERY little to do with that. Roving patrols do better at catching drunk drivers as does hanging out in front of bars.
The police should not be able to detain you without probable cause. PERIOD. If you are doing nothing wrong the cops should not stop you, EVER.

You seem to be unfamiliar with our court system. This case could have dragged on for YEARS, and cost Apple a TON of money--possibly far more than 100 Million.I know the bills add up quickly, but just how much does an active case cost? That's a lot of zeroes!

Instead of increasing the driving age, what about requiring more logged hours with a parent whit a learner's permit, manditory quality driver's ed, and making it harder for unsafe drivers to get their licence? Then require a one year driving check up a year after the licence was attained?
To be honest, it looks like the stupidity is hereditary. He has hereditary idiot disease and the only thing to teach him is either getting himself in a nasty car wreck or getting beat up or rammed off the road after cutting someone off.

Nice! I can't wait, i've survived without having to buy the unibody design which I loath so much. The edges are too sharp, the keyboard was better on the old one, in efforts to keep it cool the laptop had to be underclocked. Also, for me as a traveler I often do allot of work on the road and I don't mind carrying extra battery, but with this design its impossible for me to swap out.
Not to mention the unipad trackpad just isnt for me, in programs like photoshop you end up doing things on accident. But that's prolly going to stay so im going to be out of luck

i still think theres one more piece to this i tv that we didnt see i think that we will probbaly see either before or during the relase of this itv a 40+ inch flat screen display with a hdtv Tunner and would make sense then appple would truly be multimedia Center king

Right. You won't get the full 64 bit native benfits of Leopard without either a G5 or a Core 2 Duo processor.

Make sure your homeowner's polices are up to date. I predict this new MBA will burst into flames when Turbo Boost kicks in.
The TDPs are around the same as with previous gen, or possibly even less (the TDP of 320M is unknown). Also, Turbo Boost will only be activated if the thermals allow that. If your CPU is already running at 90�C, then Turbo most likely won't kick in.
I doubt SB will make MBA run noticeably hotter.

It certainly has a huge amount to do with market share and therefore return on investment in creating malware.
It all used to be done for fun and a little destruction and now its about the $
Windows = ~87%
OS X = ~6%
IOS = ~2%
Linux = ~1%
Android = ~0.5%
So...the malware authors can either put all the time and effort into an amazing exploit and payload that successfully owns 100% of the OS X devices in the world or they can bash something together that only needs to work out on a very small percentage of windows machines.
Criminals are not generally the hardest working people in the world :)

For now OS X is a nice place to be and with knowledge as an end user it is extremely easy to avoid being exploited.
Certainly no need for AV unless you are situated in a company that mandates all end points must have AV regardless of OS and even then traditional AV is dead and should be combined with a complete endpoint security solution.
I highly recommend getting your firewall and little snitch running on your mac to get some security and visibility of exactly what is happening under the hood.

Point is, contract breach or not, Samsung could cripple Apple's whole ecosystem within days by halting all processor shipments. Apple makes the vast majority on iDevices and this would kill Apple's whole economic model. And this doesn't even account for Samsungs components that go into their Macs. As a result, Apple would have no hardware to sell. They would dip into their treasure chest. It could be devastating to Apple.
