?Family Guy,? ?American Dad,? ?Cleveland Show? Crossover Canned After Tornado Disaster Hits Southern US

A much-hyped TV special about a deadly hurricane, featuring the casts of FOX animated series Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show, has been temporarily pulled after a wave of deadly tornadoes swept across the Southeastern US last week, killing hundreds in what?s been dubbed the nation?s deadliest tornado season in over 70 years.

More than 300 people died and hundreds of towns across eight southern states were destroyed in the disaster, prompting FOX to postpone the hotly-awaited Family Guy/American Dad/Cleveland Show crossover till later in the year. Writers on the animated sitcoms ? including Seth MacFarlane, who co-created and voices all three shows ? agreed to shelf the episode, which was written about a year-and-a-half ago.

?In light of the recent storms that have affected the nation, Fox has decided to postpone the crossover episodes that were originally scheduled to air this Sunday,? the network said in a statement Saturday.

Last month the producers of Toni Collette?s HBO comedy United States of Tara apologized for an episode that joked about earthquakes in Japan, shortly after a 9.0 quake ravaged the nation. (Awkward.)
