Film Notes: Free 'Night of the Living Dead' at the Hollywood

You can see the newly reopened Hollywood Theater in Dormont and George A. Romero's landmark "Night of the Living Dead" for free tonight.

Horror Realm, Pittsburgh's modern horror convention, will host the screening at 9:30 p.m. at the theater, which reopened Wednesday at 1449 Potomac Ave.

Scheduled to appear are producer Russ Streiner, who played Johnny and (decades later) helped to create the Pittsburgh Film Office; co-writer John Russo; and George Kosana, who played Sheriff McClelland.

Everyone who attends will be entered into a random drawing to win a pair of weekend passes to Horror Realm's Sept. 16-18 convention at the Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh South.

As part of the grand reopening, admission will be free to all shows Saturday and Sunday. Refreshments will be available for purchase at the concession counter. See www.thehollywooddormont.org for details.

Bentley goes 'Hungry'

Wes Bentley is the latest actor to join the cast of "The Hunger Games."

He will play Seneca Crane, described as the "head gamemaker" of the 74th Hunger Games in the adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novel.

He joins previously announced cast members Elizabeth Banks, Jennifer Lawrence, Willow Shields, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Paula Malcomson Lionsgate will release "The Hunger Games" March 23, 2012.

In brief

� The "Glee" North American concert tour isn't stopping in Pittsburgh but the movie version will be. Twentieth Century Fox will produce a 3-D film about the tour and release it Aug. 12 for two weeks.

The concerts, with 14 members of the hit show, begin May 21 in Las Vegas and wrap up June 18 in Uniondale, N.Y., before moving to the United Kingdom. Kevin Tancharoen ("Fame," "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" series) will direct the film.

� Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames and Paul Scheer will appear in "Piranha 3DD," the sequel to last year's 3-D bloodbath. Now in production, it is scheduled for a Nov. 23 release.
