If you said "not just" I might agree. But if you think keyboard capture code isn't being used for identity threat and/or want to lump anyone who has every run into such malware as "stupid" or "gullible" well my opinion of you just keeps dropping even lower. I don't think that overhauling the exterior of iMac or MBP is high on Apple's priority list at the moment and I'd be surprised if it happened within the next year.

Wow, it seems the majority of posters here are immediately questioning the security guard for shooting a bunch of criminals! I guess he should have been more polite, and given the criminals the chance to shoot him first! Or to run off and try to rob an honest business another time!
America used to be a country of strong, self-reliant people that would have absolutely no problem with taking down violent criminals *asap*. They would have no tolerance for thuggery, and the result is that there would be far less of it! Now America is filled with a bunch of lambs, who've become so "civilized" that they've lost the instincts needed to confront bullies. Instead, they round themselves up in the pens of a police state, where they leave the unpleasant business of personal defense to "professionals" (the police). And then they whine when the professionals don't do enough to protect them, or start to prey upon them because they *are* so weak.
This is what happens when earlier generations make a country strong, but are replaced by their children who merely inherit a strong country, with no idea how to maintain it.
There's only one appropriate course of action with thieves and criminals like the ones described in the article: give them one chance to surrender (not to quit and go home, but surrender), and if they don't take it, then shoot them. If you need matte screens, there's something you can do - add your voice to 1,300+ petitions at http://macmatte.wordpress.com Unlike personal emails to Apple - which Apple just ignore, asserting everyone loves glossy screens - make it count by adding to the online petition where your voice will remain visible on the net until Apple listens. Remember, adding your comment to transient news articles on the net is fine, but those articles go out of date in a few weeks, and also there is no long-term accumulation and consolidation of numbers, like there is at a petition site.
I've seen you post this same post on every Mac site I've visited today. Here's the problem - those of us who read Mac sites are a tiny minority. Those of us who read the comments on Mac sites are an even tinier minority. We don't represent the vast majority of iMac customers. ZumoCast does this quite well and it was free! Im able to stream my itunes music, as well as videos on my mac to my iPhone and iPad. It's no longer on the AppStore while they make improvements, but the website is still up.

- FireWire was gone from Apple's "future of notebooks" since the beginning of time (2008:rolleyes:)
- Thunderbolt is not replacing USBs, it's a supplement to DisplayPort (and can connect to both display and peripherals simultaneously)

The AirPlay private key wasn't made public by Apple for the same reason the FairPlay private key wasn't-- having the private key essentially gives you access to an unencrypted stream of whatever content is encrypted by AirPlay.

I hope Apple releases an iPod software update so those of us who already own 5th generation iPods can take advantage of all these new features.
Exactly what I'm hoping.. I bought my 5G like 3 weeks ago, the only real difference is the software, I don't use videos enough to notice the brighter screen.

Apple can recoup a portion of its payment if Creative is successful in licensing this patent to others.
This clause in the press release is very strange. Makes me wonder what price Creative would place on a license sale to Microsoft for its Zune and what Apple would recoup. Unless Microsoft can find a way to avoid infringing this patent, it effectively means that for every Zune sold, Apple will get some cash. Haha-hehe
