Mike ?The Situation? Sorrentino has filed suit against his father, alleged ex-Mob affiliate Frank Sorrentino, after Pops created a website ? TheConfrontationSite.com ? filled with a series of vlog rants targeting the Jersey Shore reality star.
In a suit filed in federal court in Miami on Monday, The Sitch accuses his father of exploiting him and creating a website tailored to damage his ?business reputation.? (Isn?t that Jersey Shore?s job?) Frank faces multiple charges of illegally using his son?s name and likeness all over TheConfrontationSite.com. Attorneys for the younger Sorrentino are asking a judge to order an injuction prohibiting Dad from using Mike?s likeness and name for promotional purposes. A rep for Frank Sorrentino says that the website will not be taken down.
Last week, reps for The Sitch said the beefed-up star is ?saddened? that his estranged dad decided to lash out at him in a series of expletive-laced rants following a dispute over cash. In one of a half dozen vlogs uploaded to TheConfrontationSite.com on May 4, Frank rants that he lost all respect for Mike after the Shorer, who is allegedly worth $5 million, thumbed his nose at a request to help his father cover the cost of some medical expenses. Mike not only refused to foot the bill for Daddy?s medical insurance, he suggested the old man hightail it down to Florida and rely on welfare.
Bad move, Sitch.
?I love my son, Mike. But you know what, Mike, when you get to the top and you forget where you came from, somebody should remind you. I just want to remind you,? Frank, who is divorced from Mike?s mom, fumed in one video. ?I?ve been a diabetic for 25 years and my insurance was running out and I called up my son and said, ?Listen, Mikey, I?m between jobs right now, can you help me out? I don?t want to lose my health coverage.? What I expected was a call back saying, ?Dad, are you OK?? I didn?t think he wouldn?t have the decency to not call me back.?
The vids feature a host of embarrassing, yet chuckle-inducing, war stories about life with a young Mike. According to the elder Sorrentino, before he found fame on MTV, The Sitch was a shiftless stoner, who once humilated a former girlfriend by holding their sex tape hostage, was nearly run over by an ice truck in an allegedly Mob-orchesterated hit, and he got fired from a summer construction job for receiving ?a professional? from a 40-year-old co-worker.
And there?s plenty more where that came from. We hear the father of four is planning on releasing a tell-all book and shopping a docu-series of his own as a final ?Up Yours? to the son he now refers to as a ?Little Fuck.? He?ll even tap into his inner Oprah and hit the daytime circuit if need be.
